9 Mile Reef

Depth 18-22m

Well known for the huge green coral tree, which stands about 2.5 metres high and is engulfed by Goldies, 9 mile is the furthest reef that is dived in Sodwana Bay. Full of fascinating caves, overhangs and swim throughs – it is home to many large resident potato bass & brindle bass. The reef comes right up to the surface at Breaking waters on the southern side and when accessible, on perfect, flat calm days this makes for a mind blowing dive.
